Publishing my personal journal entries that I've made over the years. All of which were more like a discussion with God or the lessons he was teaching me each day. Over time I've fallen out of the habit of doing this, and so to inspire myself again I decided to go back and read my journal. I hope to inspire others along the way. Lets make it a discussion!

Different sources of light 11/11/08

Jesus spoke in parables often. I think its because we are so narrow minded in comparison to how God thinks and in comparison to what He knows. After reading this fallowing bit of scripture I finally understood why he said this.

John 11:7-11

Then Jesus said to his disciples, "Let us go back to Judea."

"But Rabbi," they said, "a short while ago the Jews tried to stone you, and yet you are going back there?"

Jesus answered, " Are there not twelve hours of day light? A man who walks by day will not stumble, for he sees by THIS WORLDS light. It is when he walks by night that he stumbles because he has no light."

After he had said this he went on to tell them, " Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I am going there to wake him up."

_____

By going back to Judea, Jesus was walking by the light of God, not the light of this world. To the world, His idea of going back to Judea was absurd. But, none of that mattered to Him. He doesn't move by the light of this world (in other words, he doesn't think the way we think). He moved by His own light which is the light that we should walk in as well. AND GUESS WHAT? This is the only way that we humans can please God! Faith pleases Him. And its only by faith that we can walk in His light which is not of this world.

Hebrews 11:6 Without faith, it is impossible to please God.

From 03/24/07 Alive vs Living!

Words are not to be taken lightly.
"I tell you the truth, whoever hears my words and believes Him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life." -John 5:24
There is a lot of weight in this sentence and the word *believe*. To hear Jesus' words, and to actually believe in every bit of it should truly change everything about you. You'll be affected in your thought process; your mannerisms; fears are gone; hope grows; chains are broken. Mix this with your love for God and you have life! The kind of living life that Jesus came to give us. Yes, he came to give us the opportunity of eternal life, but also to give us life more abundantly while here on earth. Life set free from the chains of sin. "Whoever loves me does what I say." This combination of believing his words and obeying His words is what I believe is the narrow path few find that Jesus is talking about.

from 01/03/07 Sources of Strength

After getting baptized, the Lord lead me through a season of purification in my spirit but it also happened to take place in my character and physically as well. (Relating this to my present circumstances:) Lately I've been longing to get strong physically for the sake of health and I'm dancing ballet again, so I have to. But I'm realizing how desperately I need strength spiritually as well! Ive heard that everything starts in the spirit and I can see that my past can testify to this. So does the Bible. So this is me knocking on wisdom's (Jesus') door, asking to receive spiritual strength.

My source of Strength:

His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness. 2 Peter 1:3
As servants of God we commend to give credit for ourselves in every way: In great endurance; in hardships and distresses; in beatings; imprisonments; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger, in purity, understanding, patients, and kindness, in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love in truthful speech and in the Power of God; with weapons of righteousness  in the right hand and in the left...   2 Corinthians 6:44-7
-That's both hands, not one!

And i have strength in the power of my words. And The Word, Your word is as sharp as a double edged sword.

12/10/06 The Gift of Free Will

I want to choose whatever you want of me regardless of how I feel about it or see it my eyes. Just like Joseph! I really do want to do this despite my huge failures in the past. You can bring good things out of any bad thing. I surrender all. With free will we are constantly given choices. Righteousness or rebellion. Righteousness or religion. I know that free will is a gift. But there are so many blessing in choosing what you would want us to choose. Why am I so inclined to shrink back? This does not please you. I want to please you and the option to do so is mine. It will always be mine! There, that is the gift!

12/02/06 Not to Worry

I try to take action on making decisions for my life before going to God about them. - All in vain! I've already given God authority over my life. It belongs to Him so He is responsible not me! (By this I mean He knows the plans He has for me.) So why fret? Instead, I shall rejoice and be glad as I anticipate the future.
Who by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Luke 12:25
The Lord is good to those who's hope is in Him, to the the one who seeks Him; It is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. It is good for a man to bear the yoke while he is young. For men are not cast off by the Lord forever. He will show compassion. So great is His unfailing love. Lam 3:25
1st Peter is also good...

12/01/06 Why do I pray?

I've decided that what I want to write about is what I learned this day, or what God has showed me. This will be much more interesting and beneficial to read later on. I questioned myself yesterday. I forgot the reason behind prayer. If God knows everything why do I need to pray? STOP FORGETTING! Here it is. Stop saying that it is not necessary for God is all knowing and all powerful. He is. But I have been given the power of the Holy Spirit. I have been given authority through Jesus to change things in the spirit- to make things happen in the spirit realm! Remember praying over a friends pillow demanding visions be had there? Without him knowing, did he not within a week speak to me of the vision he had!? This is just one kind of prayer. I also have a beautiful privilege to speak to the Lord and He can speak to me!
